Last week I made a quick trip to Birmingham, Alabama. With only two full days to spend in town, I made sure to hit up all of my favorite hot spots in the area. If there is one thing that’s consistent around the city, it’s amazing food. The Homewood area has a plethora of local restaurants that can’t be missed. One of the newest joints is The Little Donkey . As someone who has lived in both Mexico and Arizona, you could say I am a little bit of a Mexican food snob, and this place did not disappoint! Their homemade chips and tasty drinks have added this locale to my list of must-visits in Bham. A visit to Alabama is not complete without chicken salad. O’Carr’s has the best chicken salad with a fun presentation of assorted fruits and crackers on the side. For dessert, be sure to visit Dreamcakes. The quaint cupcake shop has an extensive variety of tasty flavors and a great atmosphere. After eating my weight in food, a stop at The Vulcan statue was the perfect place to relax surrounded by gorgeous views of the city. The small town feel, friendliness of the locals, and never-ending food options are quickly making Birmingham one of my favorite places to visit!
Have you been to Birmingham? If so, what are your favorite places to eat and visit?

Sounds like a fun trip! I hope I get to go one day and will remember to check back so I can go the best places.
Amazing travel guide!
I’ve never been, but I’ll have to next time I’m in the south! The food looks good, in a decadent Southern way, haha.

What a cool idea! I have never been to Birmingham AL – I actually am from Birmingham MI – so I think I need to go just based on the name
Isn’t That Charming.
