I know popping your collar is so 2006, but it’s a trend I am not giving up on. The added height is a great way to draw attention to a statement necklace and your neckline.

Summer Picnics
For the past year or two, the Fiance and I have tried to go on a picnic once a month. It has become one of our favorite traditions. We load up the car with some simple foods, fun sodas, the camera and the tripod and head off to a deserted road near the base of a mountain. It’s the perfect break from our busy lives and hectic schedules. After we eat, we always end up taking tons of goofy pictures with the self timer on the camera. We have quite a collection going and they always make me smile. Now that the temperature is close to 110 degrees, the outfit options for picnics are slimming down. Today a lightweight romper, comfy espadrilles and a braided top knot helped me survive the heat. I hope we are still continuing this tradition when were 60 years old!

City Guide: New Orleans
This Spring I finally had the perfect excuse to visit one of my favorite cities, New Orleans,-a wedding. This was the first time Mr. Fiance had been, so we had a wonderful time playing tourists. We stayed at a hotel in the warehouse/arts district. It was a great location with quite a few attractions within walking distance. We spent an afternoon riding the famous Streetcars around town (making stops for a traditional daiquiri and po’boy ). We also spent a romantic evening taking a pedicab to the 24 hour Cafe Du Monde in the French Quarter. We followed-up the delicious beignets with a stroll around Jackson Square. New Orleans is a city with delicious food, friendly locals, and activity all hours of the day. We can’t wait to go back!

It has been a busy week filled with early mornings, late work nights, and lots of errands. Comfort and ease have been influencing the wardrobe a little too much these days. A hair appointment is long overdue, so I have been relying on hats to disguise the messy do. I also rediscovered this tee I bought in Tokyo years back. It’s one of my favorites.

Today was a ponytail kind of day. This sparkly shirt from J.Crew helped justify the ponytail since the faceted rhinestone detailing along the neckline is too fun to coverup with hair. I have a feeling this new blouse will be on heavy rotation in my wardrobe this Summer!

Spring Florals
The Hermes wedges we added to Klury this week were begging for a walk in the Arizona sun. This afternoon I decided to take off my flats and go for a stroll down the Palo Verde lined streets. There is not a lot of color in our beautiful desert landscape, so capturing the yellow flowers and bright green trees was a must!
Speaking of florals…I am dying for a bouquet of Peonies!! I haven’t been able to find them anywhere. What is your favorite flower to have around the house?

Today marks exactly 6 months until our wedding day. We are celebrating by booking our honeymoon (and popping some bubbly)! Planning our trip to Belize made me realize I could really use some new travel gear. Boy are there some great options out there!
